Gennaro Angiulo’s North End office is raided.
May 4, 1981
Law enforcement officials search the office at 98 Prince Street. The raid takes place five months after authorities had planted eavesdropping devices at that address and at 51 North Margin Street, which captured a conversation in which Angiulo argues that he and his associates cannot be indicted for racketeering because that involves the takeover of legitimate businesses, and “Our argument is we’re illegitimate businesses.” Angiulo is arrested in 1983.*
